Best lattitude curve for filmout

I have a quick question regarding video lattitude with regards to finishing on film. My instincts tell me that it would be ideal to shoot with as much lattitude as possible so as to produce something closer to the wide lat of film.

However, when looking at the filmout curve on the HD100 I saw that the filmout option is high contrast curve, with less lat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I want to help, but it's late and my explaination wouldn't be coherent. :engel017:

Film has more contrast, but that's different from lattitude. Film has more contrast than video, but it's on a much broader range of light stops than video. You could give them the same contrast curve, but the film would still perform better because it can be looking at much brighter objects before it shows up as white, and simultaniously film can be looking at much darker objects before it shows up as black.

Does HD video fall into the same trappings? Does it perform with a better latitude than traditional DV?

I think it uses diffrent compression ratios (4:4:4, I think) so it should be better. I've had better keys on chromakey stuff with HD than standard DV.
