best I can do with Ppro 1?

I would like to get the best film-like motion possible with what I have. I am going to export to DVD, and am not looking at film transfer(most fesivals play DVDs). I want to get the most film-like motion(pure 24fps where possible) with Ppro 1(I also have Aftereffects 6). I know that 1.5 is built to handle 24pa perfectly, but what can I do with just plain-old premiere pro? Do I have to shoot in 24pn and deal with the pull-down? How can I maxmize the quality here? Are there any ways I could use a temporary download(30-day Pro 1.5, Blade, DVfilmmaker, etc?) to work around this a little? Please, I want to get 24 frames, but I can't buy 1.5 yet.

Re: best I can do with Ppro 1?

you could use the trial version of ppro 1.5 but its time limited to 30 days or so so be sure your ready to convert, and output before using it. or you could buy dvfilmmaker and just convert the files to true 24p quicktimes.

Re: best I can do with Ppro 1?

I'm in the same boat as you. What I have read there is no problem with 24p and Premiere just when you shoot in advance, 24pa.

Re: best I can do with Ppro 1?

yes i no that: but 24p as 29.97fps doesnt look like pure 24 fps. there must be some way to do it, using the trial versions and such at the last minute or something. Could other people with experience in this please post?

Re: best I can do with Ppro 1?

.. you could use the trial version of 1.5 , but it would be easier and less stressful to just buy DVfilmmaker from www.dvfilm.com , and use the 24p quicktime it outputs. anyway if you have ppro the upgrade is only like 100.00 isnt it? surely you can come up with it before you need to edit if you save now..?

Re: best I can do with Ppro 1?

could someone please answer the above question? how could i film in 24pa, edit in ppro 1 and then use dvfilmmaker to end up with 24fps? Or what order and actions would I use if used the trial ppro 1.5? would I have to edit it in 30 days? Or could I edit the 24pa in 30fps and then load it into the trial version and convert the edit to true 24fps for output? Please you guys are usually so helpful. Thanks.

http://www.dvfilm.com/maker/index.htm

all versions of premiere can edit 24p.. they just couldnt do the pulldown in the program to convert the 29.976 to 24p until ppro 1.5 .. so you use dvfilmaker to do the pulldown, and then edit. once your done, you have a 24p edit. you can also use dvfilmaker to convert that 24p edit back to 29.976 if you want for standard video output. all of this can also be done using after effects.

Re: best I can do with Ppro 1?

thanks a lot, that cleared things up for me. So potentially I could shoot 24pa, then de-pull-down in dvfilmmaker, then edit 24fps in ppro 1, then export a pure 24fps file? Did I get it right this time? But what do you mean after effects can do this? I have aftereffects 6. If I could do all this with aftereffects it would be great.
