Best height for camera and most practical configuration for shoulder rig?

I have been researching into shoulder rig configurations and before spending more money on further parts to get the configuration I want, I would like to know what the general consensus is regarding camera height when using a shoulder rig. I understand it depends on how tall the videographer is, but in reference to actual measurements, are you able to give a generalization point of view like, most scenes I have shot, I usually have the camera at about 1.5 meters up? This will help me decide whether I try to build a top of shoulder, shooter, bulldog, etc. style configuration in relation to my height.

I have read an article that suggest camera should be looking up slightly below the subject eye level and looking down at the subject is bad and eye level is boring. Is there a stat somewhere that suggest the most common eye level?

Thanks

Typically eye level of the actor your shooting is the base to start. Then you go from there in height, Dutch or no Dutch to make it look interesting. It doesn't matter, if looks cool shoot it.
