Best format for film festival submission?

Hello all,
I'm going to submit my short film to the film festivals. Film have now 2K resolution (2048x1024), I won't resize it to HD or Full HD. So, can I burn my short film to HD DVD or Blu Ray disk and than send it to film fest?

Depends on the film festival. They all have their own requirements.

The majority of them now accept the withoutabox online screener. Its a 720p upload. All the others will ask for a dvd screener.
The dvd screener or withoutabox online screeners are used by the judges.

If you are accepted you must provide an exhibition copy in the format that they request. Exhibition formats are on their website and also listed at withoutabox.com

The only exception (of the majors) to this that I have found is Berlinale who will accept an mpg sent directly to them
