I've been looking at various film schools around the world, as I would really enjoy taking a course somewhere overseas.
One that really caught my eye is the Australian Film Television and Radio School
http://www.aftrs.edu.au/
If you pick their directing course, all they do is let you direct. No more having 10 directors all playing various roles in making a movie like screenwriting, cinematography, etc. like VFS. In this one, you are paired up with screenwriters who are only learning screenwriting and cinematographers who are studying that only. While your skills may not be as versatile I tihnk the overall outcome looks great. The only problem is you need to be an Australian resident to go to this school.
On that note, anyone know how hard it is to get a resident card in Australia?
This course is only $5000CA for each year. This is an amazing price.
Are there any other film schools around the world that offer pretty good prices and really good courses?
Anyone know any other schools that work like this, and simply let you focus on the one task you are there to learn about instead of having 10 directors all taking various roles in a production?
Thanks for any advice or info you can give.
