Best Film-Making Tutorial/Book For Teenagers

All of the people I am talking to say DV Rebel's Guide. Anybody here read it?

Seriously, I need a fast reply before tomorrow. I have not read it. And have meeting where I may be able to arrange for 40 copies of it to be bought. Is Stu a member here?

The DV Rebel's Guide is a good book, but I think The Filmmaker's Eye is one of the best new books out there; loaded with great info explained in a way that's easier to fall into than any other book I've read. It's a fun and fast read, too. Probably my favorite book in my extensive library.

This is a good book on directing. Not sure if you could go through it in three weeks.

I don't think DV Rebel's Guide is a good starting book. Too technical.

Another option might be something that is more entertaining than purely educational. This would excite the students and make them more interested in learning all of the more focused material. Making Movies by Lumet might work well for that purpose. http://www.amazon.com/Making-Movies-Sidney-Lumet/dp/0679756604 It's also super educational.

'DV rebels guide' is more about fx than anything else, it specifically deals with AE. Not a good beginner book - it is far to specific.
