Best Deadcats/Windsocks for zoom h1 + rode videomic

Hello there.

In desperate need for a good windsock/deadcat for my zoom h1 + a rode videomic "not videomic pro"

Iv'e seen micover they seem really good for a rode videomic. with like 25db wind noise reduction.
And the zoom h1 micover seems to only do 10db noise reduction, that seems bad. To me it seems like 10db noise reduction would not be as good as 25db noise reduction, you can quote me on that.

And wolf windshield seems pretty good. £16.99 with 2 windsocks + a adapter/cable management plug.

Any one had any good experiences with these?
Any one got any good suggestions + a small list of the best windsocks out there?

Cheers

I got one for my shotgun mike and one for the Zoom H1 from this place: www.gigwigwindscreens.com .
I've heard good things about Red Head, but haven't tried those. Gig Wigs are well-made for the money (and inexpensive); there are certainly more expensive, and perhaps durable options.

Be advised, any windscreen gives only so much protection/reduction. I usually use the foam screen and a Gig Wig dead cat on the shotgun or the Zoom; there is a significant reduction in wind noise, and no real distortion, but the wind sound is still there. If you really want to all but eliminate it, you need a "blimp/zeppelin" type cover...

I've tested out a lot of these windscreens for handheld recorders and small dslr microphones, including the ones we make, and they only work so well. One thing I learned when I sold gear back at Coffey Sound was that I took manufacturers "specs" with a grain of salt in terms of wind reduction. I preferred to actually try products out and see how they work in the real world.

Back when I had a Zoom H2, the only real solution was a foam windscreen and a dead cat on top of that. Worked very well in a broad range of conditions. I've tried Rode, Rycote, Gigwig, and Redhead fuzzy windscreens on my Sony PCM-D50; none of them really work in direct exposure to even moderate wind. I think foam under a windscreen is the way to go for handhelds.

For non-handheld recorders, it's DEFINITELY a blimp+windscreen world.

Cheers for the response, are there different density foam wind screens? If so i'd like a high density wind reduction windscreen. I already have a foam one which helps a lot.
