Best color for filming prop gun

I've read quite a bit on this forum about using airsoft guns as props. My initial plan was to use a nickel plated handgun prop but I am wondering if that is a bad idea based on seeing how most of you have used black guns. In terms of filming is black better than nickel? I have not seen this discussed but if I have overlooked a thread, please point me to it.

Thanks kindly for your input!

PS: Am I in the right forum for such questions?

black guns are more commonly used in the military/police/tactical world where as the shiny guns are usually reserved for civilian/flashy criminal types as they aren't as worried about the reflection on a gun giving away a tactical advantage.
there are exceptions to the rule of course.
however as far as the way it looks on film, the shiny guns show more detail. one trick with the black guns is to give them a wet look with gun oil wiped over the body and barrel of the gun,not the handle or trigger though as this will make the gun obviously slippery.
thanks

I had a couple of airsoft machine guns that I gave a weathered look just by using a silver sharpie to highlight raised edges that would have the blueing worn off after extensive use.
