Best Codec for Low CPU Power Reqiuirement

I want to know how CPU intensive each codec is. I haven't been able to find any information about this. I.e., if you were using the least capable computer, what codec would you use?
 
Nothing LONG GOP, something I frame that is built for your particular NLE. e.g. prores on FCPX.
 
Thanks - I read up on long GOP and that led me to reading the right materials to resolve my questions.
 
Prores or DNxHD. They were designed for exactly this reason - easy post production.

If your camera doesn't shoot one of these formats, you can either add an external recorder or transcode your footage prior to ingesting media into your NLE.
