Best codec for archival?

Just wondering what you think the best codec is for archival. I'm taking about things like animations and graphics heavy stuff. I'd like something better that DV25, but at the same time I don't want to use am uncompressed format like Animation. I'm thinking between DV50 and Pixlet. Is one of those better than the other? Both seem to have good quality, colorspace and a reasonable compression.

Thanks,

Yes, but what is special with Jpeg2000? I know it can't run at full FPS even at 640x480 on a dual 2.0 G5. The images look great, but I am curious to this compression for archiving and possible future use.

Would you save using the Jpeg2000 codec and then when needed later, make an offline editable version of this?

"The JPEG2000 standard allows for an uncompressed file to be displayed with various levels of quality. This is a very important element for the dance community, because it means that one does not have to keep several versions of files or different versions for different applications (archival storage versus remote viewing, for example). It is possible to produce copies at lower resolution and bit rate for some applications, while keeping the original file intact and losslessly compressed."
