My cell phone died after a trip in the toliet. Isn't that the sh#$#. I got a loaner till my contract is up next week. What's good? Razr? I'm looking at just a basic picture phone that will be free after rebate. A friend bought one of those PMA do everything phones for $300. Nice but,,,

I have a nextel, one of the bottom of the line no picture no color display phones....it might not impress the girls at the mall, but it's built like a tank and I get great reception....not to mention the walkie talkie feature. I think the model is the "i-530"

Samsung P207 via Cingular. Sounds great, good battery life, good features. I had a PDA/phone before, and it sucked. Nothing worked like it should...I'd give them another year or two before I'd seriously look at them.

I have the Moto V180. It's pretty ancient and it doesn't have the fancy features like the new phones do, but I know one thing... It let's me make phone calls almost anywhere I go! Isn't that awesome!

I have a Motorola PEBL from T-Mobile. I've had it since Christmas and really like it. It is low on features compared to many other offerings, but it sure does look cool.

I was looking at the Razr too. The display is pretty good size. Verizon has Mobile Web for $5.00 a month. I might try it out and a bigger screen would help.

Maybe I should look at waterproof ones!!

I currently have Verizon. My phone got all ****ed up during our shoot last August. I'm in a position where I can move to a different service if I want so I'm going to do some shopping. Does anyone have a service they hate? Maybe I can cut the field a little.

From some experiences I've heard about, I partially agree.

However, I'm on my 4th Pocket PC (long-time user) and I finally have one with a phone (PPC6600) and I love it. They aren't for everyone, since they have lower battery life (big color screen), the footprint is bigger, they are more expensive, and they are more fragile.

But the features... I could fill-up several pages with all of the cool stuff I can do with mine: all of my desktop/laptop apps except for video editing and 3d modeling. And the phone functions are cool too.

Just a brief tools summary: Pocket equivalents of Photoshop, Painter, Illustrator, simple CAD, MIDI and VST-type music production, nice games (some are 3d), PDF and e-books for a portable library, GPS, Topo Maps, Google Earth (sort of), full web experience, Microsoft Office Suite, many audio formats, video player for almost every format...

that last one is a real plus to show people WIP or final movies in good quality. The video iPod is just on the scene, but these guys have been doing it for a long time and the screen is much bigger. I almost forgot the really cool program for trips or the commute: Pocket DVD Studio which lets you convert all or part of a DVD to fit on your memory card.

Grey RAZR (it's like a club)... Verizon. Best phone I've ever had. In my apartment with my LG, no reception. The RAZR gets perfect reception and Verizon gave me a month of this VCAST which is pretty cool also.

Very cool little phone though.
