Best Camera "beanbag" support

Hello all...I am searching for a bean bag to support my HVX on ground and uneven terrain shots......I have found the "POD" bags, but they are too small, and I have also found one called a "cam pod" from australia...it may work but could be on the small side. My only other option is some type of shooting wedge as used by firearm shooters. Any suggestions out there for a good one that the HVX can fit on??
thanks

Is the shooting wedge a bean bag type of support? I'd just look for anything that is the right size that is a bean bag. Doesn't matter if it is made for a camera/video camera. IF it works, it works. Get the shot by all means possible. I bet those shooting wedge things come in black.

I use both the CineSaddle and MiniSaddle. Depends which size fits the need better at the moment. I tend to use the CineSaddle more, though it is a tad large for the HVX-200, I still like it in many situations. Also lets me use the belt clip to attach my FS-100 to it really easily.

Great quality, comes with hardware to secure it, if needed (I rarely need to, though). Nothing like it. I get shots that can't be gotten any other way. And with the strap, I can just grab the whole rig and take it on the run all day long without having to set up or break down any support system when I have to get fast shots.

Go to EventDV.net and do a search for Ben Balser. There's two articles. One is a review of the HVX200/FS-100/CineSaddle, one is a short side bar on the CineSaddle.

The best money I ever spent on a support system was buying these. Either the CineSaddle or MiniSaddle will do you proud! And the quality is the BEST! Not to mention the customer service rocks! Contact them before you buy, they'll give you the straight poop on which model you may want to go with. And tell them I sent ya!

Dang....that thing costs some money......way overpriced for what it is.....guess you are paying for the design patent. I saw some rifle shooting bags that are shaped nearly identical, for 1/4 the price.....but thanks for the info. I will keep an eye out for one of these at a "discounted" price, if such exists

I can assure you for the hardware you get, the product you get, the durability, it is NOT over priced at all. If you want quality, you have to pay for it. And I will vouch for the CineSaddles. I've tried LOTS of alternatives for a LONG time before spending the money on a CineSaddle. Yes, I even tried rifle shooting bags, making my own, all sorts of alternatives that were cheaper. I wish now I'd have saved all that time and money trying cheaper alternatives that just didn't do what the CineSaddle does. Over priced? No way. One day you'll get to actually use one for a couple of days and see what I'm talking about.
