As I prepare to begin shooting my first feature, I'm still yet to get my soundperson(I can't say soundman because it's a female) and I wanted to see what you all would say. I'd be curious what you would use and for what reasons. I've been eyeing the Gitzo Sport Fishpole deisgn at B&H with the two rubber grips on it.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I use a collapsible painting pole that I picked up at Lowes for 15 bucks.  I use a lampshade harp with rubberbands to isolate my mic and I attach that to the pole using a paint pad with a ball joint that I've adapted.  I'd probably buy a real fishpole if there weren't a host of things on the list in front of it.  Anyway, it was cheap, it's light, quiet and works fine.

Then again, I whittle my own clothespins.
