best book for lighting?

I'm looking for a good book that discusses basic lighting techniques and setups. There are so many out there so I'm guessing that there has to be at least one that stands out as the preferred book for basic lighting technique. All suggestions welcome, I'm just looking to get the best book I can.

For technique I'd go with Painting with light by John Alton. It is dated but Martin Scoresse endorses it. I use it as a text for my lighting class.

Old or not, a good book is a good book. I Just purchased a copy on Amazon, thanks.
