I have searched these forums but have not found a discussion about the relative merits of these two BMD products, nor a forum specifically dedicated to HW interfaces in general. However, the random references I did find to these sorts of questions seemed to pop up fairly frequently in the FCP forum, so I'm posting here.
It seems to me that the functionality of the Blackmagic Design Decklink HD Extreme 3D has largely accumulated all the video functionality of the Multibridge Pro 2, and that the main differences relate to the handling of more AES audio channels (Multibridge Pro 2) and the fact that the Decklink uses a $120 breakout cable whereas the Multibridge presents all connectors on an actual piece of rack gear.
What would particularly commend one vs. the other to somebody whose main initial use is capturing 4:2:2 video from an HMC 150 camera? Is one rockingly better with FCP vs. the other in terms of "native" and/or realtime capture?
