I have my sony headphones but noticed it does not work as well as Id like it to. Any suggestions on which to buy? Thanks
This of course will be used for Audio for Video. Thank you again

The 7506 aren't working? I also carry several pairs of the MDR-V150 for producers and anyone else who want to sporadically monitor audio without being on Comtek.

I've tried A LOT of headphones and I settles on Ultrasone headphones for all my audio work. They don't make my specific model anymore (Ultrasone HFI.700), but this is the same line:

What I like most is the offset drivers inside. They SERIOUSLY reduce ear fatigue. Many of the Sony and Sennheiser headphones I used really tired out my ears. I've let others use them and they really enjoyed them as well.

As far as response goes, they have a very flat response, which is what I want in a heaphone. I'd buy again WITHOUT hesitation.

AT ATH-M50 are my favourites also, but for the most bang for the buck I mention Koss Porta-Pro!!!

Headphones are pretty much all up to personal preference.

That being said, my 7506's, which I got for $80, are solid other than the exposed wires at the adjustment sections.

Sennheiser HD-25. Rock solid, all the parts are replaceable, great isolation, great sound. There's a bit too much clamping force at first but after a while they loosen just the right amount to be comfortable yet stay firmly in place (and if you need a tighter/more secure fit you can always open up the headband).

I have a pair of 7506 as well ; the Senny's seem sturdier to me, are lighter, isolate better and are slightly more detailed. Moreover I find that they are more revealing of things such as handling noise and an off-axis mic thanks to a very up close sound and deep (but not overwhelming) low end, and this is the #1 reason why I prefer them over the Sony's. OTOH I find that the Sony's sound a bit more open and are closer to what you would hear on speakers in terms of sound perspective and general balance and I certainly understand why a lot of people use and like them. The Senny's do cost more than twice as much as the Sony's.

+2 on the Ultrasones HFI700's. Great head fit, comfortable, great iso. Love 'em.

The best for location work are the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II.

I have had my Mk.I version for over 20 years now and they are still going strong.

(The only change in the Mk.II was in the cable in that the adaptor now screws on and there were more cable options - the headphones themselves didn't change)

They are very efficient and give a good level from a lower volume setting - so you can hear clearly without driving the headphone amplifier too hard nor draining the batteries too quickly.
