Best audio run bag?

George, you can email pics to me, I'll put 'em on my site (out of public view) and you can link directly to them and show what you want. You can't actually upload pics, you have to LINK to them in the "advanced post" so they have to exist somewhere on the net first... that's why I said I can host them for you. (There are other places that will host pics, but it's an option if you want it... I have GIGS and GIGS of space and bandwidth to spare on my site.)

The notes on the pics were done in photoshop... really simple.

After my cables come tomorrow I'm going to edit these photos so they look a lot more professional... and I'll post some smaller shots of the cool features Wabbit is talking about.

I know I busted on this bag at first, but I really like it and I'm eager to show you just how cool it really is. After about the TENTH thing came to mind (for an improvement) and I discovered that Petrol had already DONE IT... I started to love the bag. It's really satisfying to discover things that you didn't realize you'd need and even THEY are already designed in. I'll update my above post and after you see all the stuff I'm talking about you'll be part of a stampede to this bag. I just want to get it cabled up and totally ready to go so you can see how intelligent the layout really is.

I just got the Petrol PEHR-N harness for the PEGZ-1 aka The Eargonizer... and I feel like a para-trooper (sp?)

I gotta' say that Petrol has really changed my tune. It will be easy to recommend a bag to the next person that asks me. Petrol ROCKS. It's been nearly two weeks now and I just like the bag more all the time. The only thing negative I can say about it is that it doesn't want to stay upright if you put it on the ground... I use the neckstrap to keep it up. Aside from that it's great... and why should you put your bag on the ground anyway?

The harness is also constructed REALLY well and it's very well thought out. For the price it was a total bargain.

I'm blown away by this stuff... and if you've got your Petrol bag loaded up you're INSANE if you don't get the harness. I've been walking around wearing my sound kit complete with boom pole... in my underwear... I thought about posting a pic but I think it would get me banned even though the bag conceals my kit.

Okay it's been a busy shopping week for me now... check this out.

BTW this isn't really my bag... but it looks good doesn't it?

For those of you who are considering the purchase of the Petrol Audio bag, maybe this will make it a little more tempting.

Right now, B&H Photo Video has the larger Petrol PEGZ-2 Eargonizer Audio Organizer Bag and includes a Free PEHRN Over-the-Neck Harness ($100 value). This is not the less expensive PEHR Over-the-Neck Harness (a $40 value), but rather the more expensive, approved by MattSTL model for FREE.

How they can pull this off, I'll never know. So what's the catch? There is no catch.

Personally, I would rather spend $15 more for the larger bag that I can grow in, and get the enhanced harness at no charge.

What a deal! Now I'll bet MattSTL is kicking himself.

Uh... yeah... I just broke my own foot off in my ass. Thanks.

For anybody else who stumbles across incredible deals like that don't keep them to yourselves either. Way to give the forum the head's up JBR.

I prefer not to think of it as "only $15 more for the larger bag AND the great harness" but rather that I paid an extra $85 for a smaller bag.  :embarasse

Matt, after seeing the above "gallery" of your own personal, fully-equiped Petrol bag---oh, I'm sorry, I forgot. Those are only pictures of your back-up bag! :-)

Anyway, don't think of your present Petrol situation as a problem, think of the B&H offer as an 'investment'. You could always buy it and then resell it to make a profit...or, buy it and then resell your back-up (I mean smaller) bag and harness. After all, we all know the smaller bag is not large enough already. I mean, come on...Matt does not settle for doing anything with audio on a small scale. So what do you need with a small size bag?

You are going to grow and continue to grow. So just go ahead and take advantage of this golden opportunity.

By the way, I have not been holding back on this discovery. I just found it two days ago. So now I am sharing.

Now go get the special offer before they change their minds!

By the way to you Petrol bag owners, please tell me a little more about the cut-out for the battery in the panel. Is it on the flat side next to your body? What keeps the battery in place? Is that flap that lets down and holds the battery velcro or zippered?

Is it especially made for the NP-1 battery and cap? Room for other size batteries and accessories?

Where would you place the Battery Distribution Center (BDC) in relation to the battery inside the bag?

You can use the above gallery of photos of other peoples' bags to reference or provide your own, if you can.

Txs.

ok so i have one question, on the petro eargonizer 2, it shows that great picture with like 4 mixer/recorders in it.

on the outer edge of the bag it looks almost like it is an add on pouch and i know they make a mixer pouch...is this in fact a built in pocket?

and someone said that there is one middle divider? i don't want the sd 302 and the sd 772 to be rubbing up against each other wearing the finish off.

also, on the sd 722 you need to get your hand into the right side of it to move up and down in the menus to set the new scene name/number. is there an opening on the right side you can adjust?

with the kata and the pb there are openings with draw strings or zippers to control the opening access.

it would be a pain to have to get to it from the top all the time.

i like the idea of the battery compartment. i already use an np-1 to power the sd-302 and i have gotham sound making me up a splitter to split the hirose power from the single feed off of the battery bucket to two hirose connectors so i can power both the mixer and recorder.

i think this will be much simpler than the $300 thing i saw that was a fancy battery bucket with like 4 outputs and it even had an led you can place somewhere in view to know when the battery was low.

with the splitter setup and the 722 i can see the digital power level in the np-1 at a glance.

and its nice how it uses the sony L type batteries so i can always have one of those charged on the 722 just in case. the same way i keep 3 AA in the 302 in case the np-1 gets too low or gets disconnected.

the eargonizer 2 comes with one big front POCKET which has access to the main space ,this pocket is divided for 2 so you have another pocket for small stuff
the large one can contain 3 lectrosonics ( very squeezed or 2 which sits like kings:-)
the main space has one divider , but you can add another one ,you can see the second which i have in my setup ( thats my old setup
:-)), the bag you see is the first which was ever made - for me :-)

i dont know what are the diviners the bag coming now , for you need 2 and 2 stripes for 722 + 302 holder which comes with eargonizer 1

check with your dealer about

on the front you can place another pouch (not in the picture, you can see it on petrol site )which can sit over the side pouches holders

no problem , you have plenty of space on the sides .

make more splitters or at least another connector so you will be able to split for the wireless in the future, i use remote audio box with my own connectors , i split for 3-8 different users

thanks for the info.

so far i only have the two things to power.

my wireless stuff only takes batteries, i don't have any option on the sennheiser g1 or g2 to feed it external power.

i'm just thrilled to be able to use an oversized battery like the np-1 so i never have to worry about running out during the day.
