Best audio compromise 4 my budget

The MDR-7506 is what you need.

CiPO, Olegs mics are only a little more than 150 Euro with 3 caps - Hyper / Cardioid and Omni. I only use the hyper cap, same for Octava.

The difference is they operate as you would expect, the Octava is notorious for being sensitive to even the slightest air movement, so you really need to add the cost of a bbg - such as the Rycote -

The Chiniz can operate perfectly with a hyper cap without any need for this. In addition the Octava comes with a -10db pad, whilst the Chiniz mic has
Built in attenuator - 0, -10, -20
Built in low cut filter -0, 75 hz , 150hz

The low cut filter is very useful feature, especially for those who record direct to camera. But on Olegs suggestion I use it with or without field mixer to get the sound I want.

Not trying to sway you here btw. I am just telling you my experience and that is Olegs mic, is one that really hits a mark way way above its current pricetag. Ive yet to find a shotgun where I could say same about (Im looking though), but until then I am using Sanken CS3e's.

I haven't read the whole thread, so maybe this has been mentioned already. Or you may have already bought what you need. But here goes anyway.

Consider trying a Zoom H4 digital recorder. It has some fairly decent built-in mics (stereo), and records to SD cards. Later, when you can afford a good mic, you can plug two XLRs or 1/4"s into it and use it the same way as a minidisc recorder. I've been very pleased with what I've gotten from mine. Cost is $299 US.

Good luck!

Hi

I just ordered my Zoom H4 .... I will also try to add the Oktava/Chiniz mic :) It should be a nice upgrade :)
thx 2 all

HEhehehe ...... a good one. I think I am not so desperate yet :)
Anyway, I did order both the Zoom H4 and the Chiniz/Oktava with 3 caps.
READY TO ROCK :)
