Best alternative Web Browser ?

[J.R. Hudson]

What do you use ? Why ? Pros and Cons ? Is Set up easy ?

I'm considering switching out of I.E. for no other reason than change.

firefox dude. It's clean, simple, stable, and free. No spyware crap, etc.

Firefox

Firefox

3rd party plug-ins (gestures, gmail integration)
no active x
no IE viruses
tabs
free
open source
solid as a rock
faster than my girlfriend after two drinks

firefox is now over 10% of the US browser market.

and there is an extension that allows you to run links in IE for the few archaic sites that are IE only.

and it will import your IE bookmarks automatically

I second that. After a few weeks of Firefox I wasn't missing IE at all. Just delete all shortcuts to IE or else you'll, by habit, open IE and fall off the wagon.

Added a Poll guys ! Thanks for the answers !

[MalcolmOng]

I use opera as my primary browser and firefox as my secondary browser - my favourite feature of the two are the tabs. I can't survive without tabs

[J.R. Hudson]

Why Opera over FIrefox?

I love firefox I use Safari on my mac most the time but I still find myself using firefox just beacuse I like it. And when I'm on my PC there is nothing else. I don't really like Opera that much. I tryed it and I do need some features not just able to browes.

[Blaine]

Love the poll, John, now I'll amscray...

[J.R. Hudson]

Heh heh Blaine!

I'm checking out Firefox now (Using it as we speak)

Hmmm

Now what ? I don't feel tardy

[J.R. Hudson]

Where are THE LATEST HEADLINES coming from ? I like that

[Kirk Gillock]

Forgot to mention. Setup is easy with Firefox because it will import your IE favorites during setup.

RSS. any time you see that little icon (it's standard now, as Mozilla got MS to buy off on it) you can add a feed to your bookmarks bar. Digg.com for instance.

It's under Options>Feeds

wait till you use gestures for the first time. it will blow your head off.

Thanks PK and Flint

Is there anyway to ' ALT TAB ' as one would in I.E ? THis is for switching between pages quickly; or do I have to use the mouse and click the tab each time ?

[FlintMI]

Ctrl TAB to switch tabs in Firefox. AND check it out you can CLICK AND DRAG tabs in Firefox to move 'em around. not widely known.

also check the tab options, you can make it so you never see a popup again (almost never) -- it will launch popups in a new tab instead. very useful.

[J.R. Hudson]

Very cool

Im liking it so far. Thanks Flint !

I use FF for all the above reasons on my pc. Not sure if mentioned you can also add some scripts to firefox to make it blisteringly fast compared to others.

[Shaw]

Firefox. The only way to go on PC

I've heard really good things about Opera but haven't had the chance to use it much yet.

[Kirk Gillock]

Firefox doesn't come with Flash installed. But it installs it very easily (one or two clicks).
