Bescor pan motor for crane/jib

It's only about a hundred bucks, but the next level up is about $1500.

It seem pretty good for the money. Anyone have/ like this unit?

Any goo trick or hack to make it pan faster?

Would you trust your baby on it, perched on the end of a long boom?

I perch my DVX100A on top of it at the end of a 12' jib frequently, and have been satisfied with the result (especially at the price). Best for wide shots. The tilt or pan starts and stops quickly (as opposed to smoothly) but you can handle that in your NLE. The speed of the pan and tilt is slightly adjustable (slow to a little faster). Although I don't think it would ever come off I use a "safety strap" on my camera just in case.
