Not sure if anyone cares but I got to play with 3 Benro BV6 heads yesterday... underwhelmed to say the least. The head itself is considerably smaller then the
S8 head ( only holds 13lbs vs 17 for the S8).
The first head I tried the pan drag was very loose. Even when turned all the way up ( 0 to 3 ) it felt as strong as the #1 setting on the other 2 heads.
The tilt drag adjustment on the 2nd head was stuck at either 3 or 2... could not turn it down to 1 or 0.
The 3rd head was just fine... but seeing that 66% of the heads had serious issues does not instill confidence.
That said, the 7 step counterbalance was very nice. The 8 steps are (in lbs) 0, 1.5, 3, 4.6, 6, 7.7, 9 and 10 something... I could easily balance a DSLR without a lens... I find most heads in this range too strong with like a 4lbs or more minimum.
Now for the worst flaw. When spreading the solo carbon legs all the way wide the ball head knob hits the ground!!! It is too long to use as is in the lowest setting.
Crazy! Why not just use a short knob like on the miller or vinten heads?
