I may be a bit biased, because I used to live in Bend, but this festival is pretty cool if you can make it. Either for submitting or just attending. They are very supportive of independents and try to get the filmmakers who are selected to appear at all costs. Even if you're poor and can't afford it, they'll work on finding a way to get you there. I attended some great panel discussions last year as well.
And most importantly, there are several excellent microbreweries in the area. Deschutes, Cascade Lakes, Bend Brewing, Silvermoon and McMenamins. :beer:
