Beginner Advice needed & possible book(s) to read

Hello All
I'm from a stills background. 20+ years shooting ads on film & plate cameras and now shooting digitally, invariably on my PhaseOne. However, I've just got my hands on a GH1 with a view to becoming involved with filming/videoing. This, I can see is going to be a very steep learning curve using alien terminolgy to me. Any one have any suggestions for an 'idiots/beginners guide' to video shooting/production?
I look forward to receiving some educated answers and getting to grips with my new venture.

Try to learn the existing terminology rather than making up your own. Saying "videoing" makes you sound like a doofus.
