Before it can fully load, FCP crashes...

I tried FCP Recovery and trashed the settings and then tried to open FCP again. My computer screen gets a warning that says I have to restart my computer. Do I have to re-install FCP? Any idea of what may be causing it or how I can get into my FCP? It's FCP 4 and it's for a Mac G4.
 
i know you said you trashed your settings, does that include the plugins? i had the same problem, and i temp moved all my plugins to another folder and fcp loaded up fine. i closed fcp, then moved all my plugins back to the folder and it still worked.
