Before I even beginn to use script writing software...

i need to know all of the terminology and what kind of language to use to portray certain scenes. things like ANGLE ON and REVERSE ANGLE etc...I don't just need simple definitions. I need to seem these used in context with explanation of why.

I have to great, (IMO), idea in my head but i am absolutely clueless on how to bring it to life in a script.

so I suppose Im asking is there a text out there that will serve as a good intro? :dankk2:
 
Actually not a lot of people use that terminology any more. You can if you want but why make things difficult?
Format is the least important thing in screenplays.
 
Well, first, I'd check the stickied Screenwriting FAQ thred if you haven't already and see if any of those resources meet your needs. Otherwise, it sounds like a very basic guide to script writing would meet your needs for now. The one I got was The Complete Book of Scriptwriting by J. Michael Straczynski, but I'm sure there are many others to choose from.
