Bedsheet as a Backdrop?

I know this sounds crazy but I was wondering if anyone ever took a bed sheet (white) and set it up on some C-stands and then lit the sheet from behind with gels? I have seen people do this before but I am not sure if they actually used a bed sheet.

Im sure it will help diffuse the light. Oppressor uses a shower curtain and it works nicely.

Just check it ever so often to make sure its not catching on fire...

Other than that it should be fine! (I've done the same thing before )

a shower curtain huh? hmmmmm I might have to play around with that idea!

Just realize when you start shooting lights through gel frames... or shower curtains, you will have all kinds of bounce spilling everywhere around the fixtures.

The need for controlling the light increases. Use C-Stands and flags if you have them. If not, use big pieces of cardboard held on light stands with spring clamps to control spill.
