Beating this one to death, HVX vs. 100B

Ok im sure this topic has been beaten to death since october but I am in need of some recent data. I am looking at buying a 100B for my video work overseas, basicly enviromental documentary and city/rural life I know i can afford the 100B and Some of the accessories needed, and the $400 rebate, software and book make it seem like a great deal.
But the HVX seems like somthing my investment will not be obsolete in the next year or two even though it will pretty much break the bank 100%. I am not a pro and need somthing more rugged and versitle in many of the places im going. Vietnam, cambodia, laos, thailand, china, philipines, just to name a few.
What please would one advise as to replace an aging sony 150 and which should I get?

Begging for help here, I have 2 weeks to decide

well are you planning on shooting hi def? If not i'd say stick with the dvx. I don't think it sounds like you'd be needing variable frame rate. The dvx will still be a good investment, they aren't gonna loose all value instantly jus because the hvx came out. Until everyone is watching high def widescreen tvs the dvx will still be a great camera.
