Beachtek DXA-5Da running off A/B battery squealing audio - dirty power / ground loop?

Hello fellows,

Not being an audio expert (wiring and tech-wise), I figured I'd run this by you:

I've converted a Beachtek DXA-5Da to run off of the 12V power source on my Anton-Bauer battery adapter, as seen here:

The modification works fine (and I recently installed a step down unit inside the BeachTek to reduce the 12V input to 9V at the board), but ONLY when it is the sole electronic device drawing power off the A/B battery plate. Once I turn on my monitor (connected to the D-tap) or the camera itself (which runs off the 7.2V output), the unit gives me a hissing/squealing/beeping sound through the headphone jack that virtually drowns out anything else. It doesn't need a microphone connected to do this either.

This electrical interference is not unique to the headphone jack in the front of the unit; the mic out jack does the same thing. In short, the interference affects the entire box.

No, it's not AGC disable either - I have that turned off in favor of Magic Lantern handling the job.

I take it this is some form of "dirty power" - as I've been reading through a few forums thanks to Google - yet, anything I've brought up in regards to dirty power is in regards to 110v wall power rather than a battery source. Likewise, ground loop issues appear to be fixable with isolation transformers, but my problem is not between the mic and the preamp - it's with the power source.

I'd appreciate any input.

Best,

-Kurt
