I just saw these:

Area 48 Color - http://brothers-sons.dk/area-48-color/

Compact Beamlight - http://brothers-sons.dk/products/bbs-cbl-1-compact-beamlight/

Beamlight article - https://britishcinematographer.co.uk/bbs-intros-compact-beamlight-family-at-ibc-2018/

IBC video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84We_VDih6k

I own a remote phosphor Area 48 panel. The build quality is amazing. It'll probably come with a pretty high price tag, they may be a little late to the RGB game?

The beamlight looks awesome - it's time for LED hard lights to shine (lol).

Love the build quality of the OG Area 48 but curious about price. They're going to have a tough time competing with the Gemimi and Skypanel if it's anywhere near that price as this is only 150w.

Seems a 40W fixed color temperature hard light is better suited to architectural installs, & news sets (two uses BBS promotes), rather than typical cinematography sets. Can’t see Gaffers, & most Rental Houses, stocking these.

There are four different color temp options.

I can see them being used for flares, plus it doesn't draw attention to itself they could easily be seen in shot e.g. par cans on a stage. But I agree they may have a fairly specific application.

I'd love to see some effective barn doors as well.

I hope they've improved the control interface on the RGB units (they'll need it!). That's the one weak point of the standard Area48s.

Haha yeah. My screen has been upside down for over a year now. An on/off switch would be nice too. They take too long to fire up as well.
