Had some time so I just watched the entire series over the last couple weeks and absolutely loved it. I had heard of its awesomeness over the web, but I had no idea how well-written an SF drama it was. It didn't surprise me to see some Buffy creator's names show up over on this show. Truly fantastic stuff.

Quick spoiler note on the ending....

Yeah, so after finishing the series I went online and all I could find were all these people up in arms about the show's ending. Everyone was angry (it appears) because of the show's final nod to intelligent design -- which was the core plot point from the first episode of the series. It made perfect sense to me that DNA compatibale beings created by a higher power (which may or may not be supernatural) would exist on the Earth-like planet (that is actually our Earth and not the 13th colony's Earth). The entire show was about fate and prophecies and divine intervention from start to finish.

I think sometimes when people watch a show that asks questions or has some element of mystery they begin to assign their own predictions -- what THEY feel would be the best and most probable way for the show to conclude. Being that this was an SF show maybe there were a lot of people not jiving with intelligent design as being the core plot point, but I think they were just fooling themselves. The very first episode has a 6 telling Baltar that he's part of god's plan, etc, etc. So the show concluding on a purely fantastical Dues Ex Machina is wholly supportive of the entire series. IMO

So glad I watched the show. Super awesome watching the whole thing over a two week period.
