Battlestar Galactica Fans

Just wondering if there are any battlestar galactica fans out there? I'm a huge fan, and it's the only show that I want to watch. I'll sometimes watch 24, but for me Battlestar Galactica is beter than 24 (I know some of you will dissagree).

I recently got my older sister into the show. She's not a Sci-Fi fan at all, but I got the first season on DVD and she got hooked.

I think it's because of the concept of the show. It's Sci-Fi, but it's not Star Trek or Star Wars because it's a show that deals with a civilization coming to an end and doing what it can to keep surviving, to keep on going, and to find a home. It's done with style and beauty and rough camera work (even though some complain about the shaking, I love it). Although it's very unrealistic in it's ideas, the way it's done, the acting, the camera work, the stories, you beleive it to be true. It deals with many political and moral issues. But it stays true in the sci-fi roots with lots of action, but IMO the action is well convieved and very clever with twists and turns and tricks up their sleeves that leaves your jaw dropped. Such was the case with the begining of season 3.

So any new series BSG fans out there? I'd love to discuss what's been going on recently as well in the show.

There are some discussion threads in Film Discussion.

Generally, it's one of the best shows on TV in recent years -- though it has struggled to find direction this year.

Well since it's not a film I thought this would be the place to put it. didn't know there were some in film discussion.

Why do you say it's struggled to find it's direction? I though some episodes were really lacking, but what it seems to be building up to with the whole eye of jupiter is really rock solid and the episode this weekend seems to be touching upon that and can't wait.
