Hi!! Newbie, here, had my DVX for about a month now and LOVE this cam. One question about the battery, On the belly there is a tiny switch. What is it for? Should the red dot be showing or not? Thanks.

What ever you do don't move that switch! That is a very compleated switch depending if your camera is PAL or NTSC If it is on red and you run your camera Oh Boy!!!!
If you have done this not to worry it is just a reminder switch to let you know that the battery is dead. On movie sets when a battery runs out of juice they mark it with red tape so everyone knows it is a dead battery. Welcome to the group! You got off easy this time usually we drag the torment out for a lot longer! ;D
