Ok, I have the dvx 100a.... I have a couple of the dvxuser.com batteries 7.2v 5600mah, and 2 of the crappy ones that came with the camera. Does anyone know what the advantage of the belt packs are? Like this:

How they hold up against these batteries I have? Is there any use of me buying a belt? Is there any way to get more life from these batteries I already have?

I was filmming in December outside,( it was really cold) and I know the cold affects the batteries, but man did they go quick! The DVXuser batteries lasted maybe an hour and a half, and the small ones for like a half hour! Luckily I had 4 batteries and could keep 2 on the chargers, but I could never keep them fully charged the whole shoot. I kept having to switch them.

Also, Is there any rain gear you guys own for your cameras? Or do you just put a plastic bag over it and hope for the best? I am doing a documentary this spring and it will be all outside. I want to prepare for the worst, so I need some wet weather protection. How does this camera hold in the rain? What can I do?

Anyone know about those LED lights you can mount to the camera? here is what I was looking at: www.litepanels.com

I figure I may get one of these for the documentary as much of my shooting will be at night. Anyone used these? opinions?

The 12V pack has huge capacity, about 3x of the Dvxuser you own. You need a 12V to 7V adapter to step down the voltage. They are very heavy and powerfull, you can start a car with it :-)
