Battery block/ battery belt lights.

Besides lite panels and car kinos, what lights can be used running off of a batter belt or battery block? I have some very remote and on the run needs, but would like some sort of small par light or Fresnel.

I don't have much experience being away from wall juice. I need help. :dankk2:

I could just get a put put, but hey, I also am guerrilla shooting this particular scene. Quiet and considerably lighter weight battery belts are more suitable.

Pretty much anything that runs off 110v could as long as you had an inverter. Otherwise, DC operated lighting is rare but not impossible to find. It ranges from LED camping lanterns, LED UFO lights, HID flashlights, LED flashlights, battery operated fluorescent or LED worklights. All that kind of stuff could be used with some care and light modifiers like gels or whatever it takes to make it more suitable for your use.

Joker 200 with one of these http://www.k5600.com/products/acdc/index.html

12v Dedo's might work for you too

Arent some of the little halogen's 12v like the MR16?

I've mainly used zylights for battery dependent shooting and love them. Lots of light and full control over temp and color. Ran a couple off of a large utility battery for a few days in a row once. If you cant get belts big enough I highly suggest sinking some money into a good SLA battery and a nice charger.

The lowel pro-light can be used off battery if you get a 12v lamp for it. It's not a fresnel but it's sort of close enough for some uses.

On-camera ENG fixtures are generally equipped with 12 volt MR16 lamps. Whenever possible it's probably best to try and use 12 volt lighting when using battery power as opposed to an inverter with 120 volt lighting. You actually lose potential power by stepping up the voltage and turning it into AC.

Of course, if you had a battery that was also wired to provide 24 volts (or 2 - 12 volt batteries) you could power a 24 volt 250 watt fixture like this:

.

Those are good suggestions! I was just looking for something that was hard. All the lights I know of that were on battery blocks were soft led's or kino.

Those small ENG lights could be a nice small light for a rim or etc.

Thanks again!
