Battery Adaptor ????

[kabtv]

Is it utopian to think that somewhere on the planet, a genius has invented an adaptor for use, let's say a camera or a on camera light from Sony BUT with battery from other compagny like Panasonic...?

It is utopian, as while the working voltage is the same across the brands (7.2V for Sony, Panasonic, Canon) physically they are different, nobody came up with an adaptor to allow a Sony L battery to plug in in place of the Panasonic CGR54 for example. Add to that an additional obstacle of Sony locking out all others by using their proprietary "InfoLithium" communication protocol.
