im going on a trip over to spain, switzerland, and france. i am doing a project and ill have my dvx100b with me. is there a place online where i can buy adapters for my battery chargers so that they work in europe?

on the battery charger itself you can pull out the cord. on apple products you can switch the cord to be a different countries. i wasnt sure if you could do that with this panasonic adapter. Obviously dvx100b are sold in europe and they must have a battery charger. What is this '50 cent plastic piece' called. I am compelty retarded when it comes to anything outside the world of film/video/web .

i brought mine to europe last year and just used the 2 dollar socket adapter and plugged thecharger into that.. the charger does the voltage conversion.

I would recommend the adapter.. as then you can plug all your junk into it, like cell phones etc.

It makes sense, but I'd go further then: bring a power strip. It doesn't take much extra space and, soon or later, you'll be in the need of recharging all of your pieces of equipment at the same time (Murphy's Law for the traveling filmmaker).

yeah instead of a strip just use a power block.. the little 3-1 square breakout things. super small and should cover most of it.

Hey jonwolf, PM me your addy and we'll send you two adapters.
Most of Europe now uses the Schuko standard, although the Swiss plug's pin diameter is actually smaller: Schuko is about 4.75mm, the Swiss pin's diameter is 4mm.
We have tons in stock and bought them cheap; they are two pole only (no earth).

These adapters we have won't change voltage of course, and you have to make sure your chargers are both 110V/220V, 50/60Hz (the DVX one is).

The VP-11W would take care of most Europe.

Aye, but not Switzerland. They use their own specs. That's why I'd go with a two prong plug adapter (if you don't need the earth). As long as it's not a three pole (ground included).

Here's what we could send you jonwolf, and it would cover the use of the DVX charger in Spain, France, and CH.
