Batteries for HVX

This is probably a good question for DVX100 graduates-

Are the off brand and considerably cheaper batteries for the Panasonic any good?

Also I noticed that the heavier battery D54 is less than twice as many amp/hours as the D28, but almost 3 times as much $$'s.
How much longer does it last and is it worth it, or is it a better deal to buy more D28's?

Thanks

Actually just saw your banner ad for batteries and ordered the ones from Zoomforce on the DVXUser site.
Are these good?

They are a much better value for the money. Although my Panasonics seem to have an ever so slightly longer useable life, 2-3 years, the capacity and reliability are the same and the price is much better. DO NOT USE LENMAR FAST CHARGERS! Use only the Panasonic trickle charger that comes with the camera. The Lenmars dramatically reduce the useable life of your batteries. Buy a second or third charger from Rush at EVS if you need to get faster charging and just double up.

Does Panasonic sell a dual charger for the batteries? Or a rapid charger? I'm used to the Canon stuff but plan on getting a whole pile of them when the HVX comes in.

Also, are there any camera lights/ sungun type lights that take these same batteries?

thanks

Sorry sir, no and no. You have to buy separate chargers, and make sure you only get the slow trickle chargers; there is no light made for the batteries. If you just need a simple emergency fill light, Best Buy has the Sunpak for $50. They last about 35 minutes, and the extra batteries for them are cheap. :)

Dosen't the new Lite panel DV take the Pany batteries? Personaly i would recomend getting the real battery though, much lighter and a very well made product. $250 more is worth it for the dedicated battery and the Noga arm.

Yes those are some cool batteries, and what's most important is the slim profile they make, and extremely light weight compared to 2 Panasonic-style batteries hanging off the back.

Have I missed something? I've been using a Lenmar fast charger for both my Panny and Sony Batts upon Jared's recommendation last year w/no discernible problems.
Just returned from France where it performed like a champ on 240v. w/Jared's latest batts.

They're heavier, but I use Panny batts w/my Panelite for the convenience/versatility factor. Proprietary Panellite batt requires dedicated charger . Batt isn't good for anything else except panel lite.
