So I'm working on a new, very FX-heavy project. I've media managed the footage so all I have online currently is the clips actually used in the film. In the media folder the clips are at their full duration, with the edited in and out points on the timeline in FCP. Likewise, the footage has all been color-corrected in the timeline. Now I want to export the clips to individual files, at their edited lengths and with the color correction applied, so that I can work the FX on each shot.
I know that typically one would want to do the effects and then apply the color correction at the end, to integrate the final effects just that little bit more, but the particular effects are meant to be very precise color values matching across all the shots, so they need to be applied to the final footage.
I've tried the media manager again, but that works on the source footage and doesn't apply the color correction through Final Cut. The batch export works on the master clips in the bin, not the timeline, which don't have the in and out points nor the color correction applied. The only way I can apparently export trimmed and color corrected clips seems to be to go through the pain in the butt of double-clicking each one in the timeline and exporting them individually.
Anyone got any better advice/workflow than that (please)?
