Hi all...
I've set up all my in and out points on footage...but when i go to batch capture the lot it keeps telling me that I have timedode errors...I really dont feel like chopping this again...what can I do? apart from manually capturing everything. The tape was brand new when i started shooting.

thanks

Re: :batch capturing:

Try adjusting your timecode to 3 or 4 seconds after camera starts rolling and before it ends. If you log in the exact number it could be getting confused. I'm assuming you didn't start and stop in between your in/out points. If you did start and stop then you have to take care when shooting to make sure the timecode remains between takes.

Re: :batch capturing:

what do you mean "take care when shooting to make sure the timecode remains between takes."?

Once i started shooting I didnt rewind to look at footage...it ran right until end of tape. Then I rewound it, set all my in and out points at various stages of footage and pressed batch capture...thats when i got the timecode errors...
I've had to manually capture the second tape which is a bit of a mission.

Re: :batch capturing:

If you turned it on and did a continous record then the timecode should work.

If you powered off between takes or the camera went into standby mode you should make sure the timecode doesn't read 00:00:00 before hitting the record button again. If it does you need to hit the Rec Check button or this will be considered a break in timecode.

Likewise if you just have timecode set to freerun then FCP will see this as a timecode break every time you paused or stopped recording the camera

Re: :batch capturing:

i agree with Scott, avoid the problem in camera, but if that fails, you can go into capture presets i think (i can't check right now because i am batch capturing) and uncheck the "stop capture upon timecode break" or something like that, then it will capture no matter what
