Batch capturing wrong frame rate

Hello all,

My PP2.0 project is set to 24p, my dvx is set to scene file 6 (24p), but the footage I am batch capturing is coming up 30 fps. I've never had this problem before. If I manually capture (using PP2.0's record button while capturing) the frame rate comes up correct (24fps). I've checked the camera, the project settings and everything is correct, yet batch capture yields 30 fps when I batch capture. Can anyone help?

Thank you!

Have you tried just capturing the clip as is and then right-clicking on the file in the project window, selecting 'Interpret footage', and clicking on 'remove 24p pulldown'?

No I haven't...

No I haven't... I'm not really familiar with that. I'll look into it. Thank you. I hope this is a solution to the resulet. Does anyone know what will prevent this problem?

PP 2.0 acts like Vegas does with capture now -- the footage is captured at 29.97, but pulldown is removed on a 24p timeline.

If you take the footage into a 24p project and look at the clip properties, you should see that its framerate is 23.976.

That's just it...

That's the problem. I checked the clip properties and it says
29.### FPS.
The footage was playing weird so that's how I discovered the problem. =/

Then maybe there's a bug in the batch capture. Not many people bother with that anymore, though. Disk space is cheap and plentiful, and scene detection gets you where you need to be. Just capture the tape and delete what you don't want.

What's with the interlace stutter though?

Hey David,

We have been shooting our little action sports movie on a DVXB and using a 24P timeline in Premier Pro 2.0. Naturally we're shooting at 24P Advanced with CineGama on for that almighty film look.

However, when we complete the capture we are seeing significant interlacing artifacts, not surprisingly related to mostly faster motion sequences.

We're not clear on whether this is a result of a temporary effect of removing the pull down for a 24P timeline, and that it would be fixed when we exported to a DVD ready file or what? We exported to an avi clip and that didn't seem to fix anything.

We have two goals:

1) Get rid of interlacing in all footage for the purposes of distribution on the web. (WOuld this require the end users to have a progressive monitor?)

2) Get rid of interlacing in all footage when we publish to DVD format.

Anyone got thoughts on this???
