basic workflow questions between premiere and CC

I've been shooting for quite a while but am in the process of teaching myself editing and color correction and need a bit of advice. I shoot on a 5D and am working in premiere CS6, I've been editing natively because I've been told many times (and have run a few quick tests myself) that transcoding the DSLR's h.264 before editing doesn't give any improvement in quality, but that transcoding it will help with color correction. If that's true, then whats the best format and workflow for going from the h264 files in my project to grading in resolve?

I don't know Resolve, but transcoding should not give you any advantage. Your 4:2:0 footage will not magically obtain more color depth when transcoded.

I found this tutorial to be very helpful in working with Premiere Pro and Resolve. The trick is to import the clips into Resolve, create one light proxies, import those into Premiere Pro and edit them. After, send the XML to Resolve. After grading, send the XML back to Premiere Pro for output. Simple!
