Great idea Mike.
One thing I'd like to throw out. Has anyone here contributed to Wikipedia or something like it? I really like the idea of several people being able to write about a topic and have it continually updated and reviewed. In other words, a live document. Personally, I don't feel like writing 10 pages of tutorials and opinions, but I'd certainly add in a paragraph or two, or critique what's been written. I think others feel the same. (On the other hand, I know that some people don't care for constructive criticism and would rather have 100% control of their document--so this approach isn't for them.)
The other reason why I'd like to see a Basic Sound Tutorial as a document, and not a forum: the forum stickies are really tedious to read. I mean I love everything that everyone's written in the stickies, but it's a pain to wade through 10 pages of a post and then find out on page 7 that something on page 3 is debatable. And a lot of what's in a sticky is, IMO, not stick-worthy.
If anyone has any idea how to make a live document, I think it would really advance the state of the art for a Basic Sound Tutorial, or any other subject for that matter. There are so many generous (and opinionated) contributors on this forum, and I think this would be a great way for all of us to both contribute and learn.

I like the idea of a wiki format.
We could also just assign portions of the video to senior members who post a lot. he he he...
