Basic question - selecting Video or audio

I am real new to FCP after being a long time professional User of PremPro. I am wading through the books, manuals, tutorials but...

Here comes a real basic question:

How does one take just Video or Audio (not both) from the viewer (Source Monitor) to the Canvas / Timeline ( Program Monitor)?
 
on the left hand side of the timeline you will see V1 A1 and A2 , this is saying where video, and channel 1 and 2 of your audio are going. just click to deselect and then do your edit.
 
Thanx. Kind of thought that was the technique.

PPRo conveniently had a Take Audio/ Video or Both toggle at the sOURCE WINDOW but I will learn this new new flow.
