Basic Countryman B6 for wired use?

Hi:

I'm sure other people have had this experience: You search the excellent archives on DVXuser.com for a tip on exactly the product you need, and then when you go to buy it online, somewhere like B&H, and you discover 20-30 variations of the item and you don't know which one to get.

It seems like the lavalier of choice for most wired uses is the Countryman B6, but most of the B&H offerings refer to wireless use. Would this be the one for wired use?

Would I need anything else with it? I have a long XLR cable from a boom mike.

I don't mean to promote B&H especially, but they have such an exhaustive web site and they're so close to me that I receive the items in a day or two.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks, timapter and wabbit. I actually live in New Jersey so part of the appeal of B&H is I can order online and it shows up at my door in a day or two, without having to go into NY.

But Gotham Sound looks like a good tip so I will drop by when I'm in the city.
Their web site could use some upgrading, though. I searched for "countryman B6" several ways and didn't get any results, but then found it by drilling into categories. It looks like a good place to know about, though.
