Base Plate and Slider

I just received my flycam 5000 and it is missing the slider and base plate. I'm guessing the people will be sending me out one. After looking at the video that came with this kit I noticed that the slider and base plate is pretty small. What I need to do is find a bigger one that would fit the Redrock gear. Here are two photos to give you an idea what I'm talking about. All I really need is the base plate. Thanks

how do I mount it? The red rock plate doesn't have any holes that will match up to to the bottom flycam plate (the one with all the holes). The camera is attached to the RR plate which is in my hand (photo) and the Matte Box is also attached to that same plate along with attachments, flip etc.... By having a quick release I can remove the whole attachment but if I somehow find a way to bolt that down onto the flycam plate then when I want to remove the camera I have to unbolt everything which will be a big pain. If I have a large plate attach then all I have to do is just slide the whole camera package off the flycam making it very easy to remove. Also I will have to re balance everything each time I want to put everything back together if I'm unbolting. While filming it is nice to put the gear down to rest your arms etc... but it will be a huge pain to have to unbolt it vs just sliding the plate off to remove the camera. Of course I can take the camera apart from the redrock gear but then that is also a huge pain removing and re-adding. Time frame: with slider maybe five seconds to take off and put back on but bolting it down I'm looking at maybe 20 minutes of screwing around with everything. To be honest I like five seconds much better then 20 minutes :-)

New Zealand,

I think we may have talked via email, but just incase:

What you'll need is the Bogen 357 Rapid Release Unit. It's the same sled system that is on top of our microSupport Baseplate. You'll attach the 357 to your Flycam with the screws that hopefully came with your Flycam unit. You'll just need to remove the top of the Flycam unit, screw the 357 into that via the bottom, and reattach the Flycam plate to the Flycam. If the system didn't come with the proper screws, I'm sure you can use two of the extra screws that will come with your new bogey sliding plate.

Hope that helps you!

P.S. I would ALWAYS try and attach two screws everywhere you are attaching a plate, i.e. two screws from the plate to our microSupport Baseplate, and two screws from the Flycam Sled to the Bogen Rapid Release unit. Two screws will ensure that nothing moves; which would totally throw off your balance.
