base macbook pro fast enough for onlocation editing?

Hi Guys,

I'm going to be purchasing a Macbook Pro mainly for document type stuff; invoices, emails, contacts etc but am curious as to whether the base model with a 5400 rpm harddrive would be able to be used for onlocation editing.

All editing is currently done in a mac pro suite but I'm starting to do a lot more work away from the office and I'd like to be able to load up the footage after a shoot and by the time I get off a 7 hour flight already have a basic rough cut done and then transfer it to my edit system.

So would theoretically it be possible to do basic editing (no effects work, rendering, etc) of DVCPRO HD type content on the new base macbook pros like the base one on this page:

Thanks!
