Barry S and TC: welcome to IMDB!

Wow, this thread has morphed into something quite cool. I vote for adding IMDB links to our profiles! You guys have been in some very interesting projects, good stuff! When we're all running the show we can all look back on these, eh?

Dude that IMDB listing is missing half of your work credits. (music videos, short films)

yeah, i dont put those on...should i? just feels wierd...there are alot of guys that work in my part of the industry (previs) that try to be something they are not...just want to let it ride...and wait and see what happens. i dunno....:undecided

Problem with IMDB is it is so inaccurate as to be a joke many times. A lot of friends are never listed in many things they had a big part of. I should be listed on about 35 things there but have one lousy listing. But of course if you pay them you can start adding your name and picture and all sorts of things. As long as you have money and a need for vanity. It's a site that teases you so you give them money to feel good about yourself. I already do feel good without credits so I am happy. But always happy to see as many others there as can. But for those that are not, don't feel bad, you're not missing anything.

I think you should.....

You have one killer MV
One killer short

A boat load of other shite (professional level not listed). Someones gonna check your work and not see your 'Directing skills' or 'Music Video' skills

Walter and Elvis,

I didn't pay to get listed. I can't speak for the others but Barry S and TC didn't pay either. They got listed because the director of the short they wrote (me) submitted them once the film made a festival. You guys have websites about yourselves and your work, is that because of vanity or is it because you're smart?

If you have noticed that you aren't listed on many projects that you were a part of then it's obvious you do care. It's free to get listed, just submit an update and add yourself on the films you were a part of and after some checking they will add you and then no hard feelings, k?

A LOT of people hit that site regularly, it's a great resource, and sure because they depend on others sometimes to build up the database there are errors occassionally but when I want to find so and so that was in so and so's movie, there is no better place, quick and easy.

Is it really worth it?

Worth what? It doesn't cost anything to list your credits, only to put up pictures. I listed my own credit up there, and all it took was time to list, and then time to wait 'til it showed up. I did it because I had nothing to do at the time and wanted my own page on imdb, no big deal but it did "make me feel good about myself" so who cares.

The point is, I've worked very hard the last several years to "pay my dues" and feel I am just starting to get the recognition I deserve. IMDB is just one of the aspects of that, that's all. You might think it's dumb, but think about when you first started, you looked for any kind of recognition... hell, I bet any of us will still take any kind of recognition if we're honest with ourselves. But then again I shat myself in public yesterday so what do I know about looking good.

This one's actually me, but apparently, there are two other guys with the same name who got in there before I did

Argh! I just checked and someone with *my* name is already in there.

Hurumph...

Whew! I'm not there. And neither are any close relatives.

(Although I do appear to be a blind, Catholic Canadian in Google.)

I spoke too soon, it appears. He's fallen off Google. Now it looks like I'm some sort of physicist.

Where do I find the time...
