Barry Green and The Edge

I met all the members of U2 and Simple Minds back when I was living in Dublin in the mid 80's. A friend and I actually went into the city to try to get last minute tickets for a Simple Minds concert but couldn't find any in our price range.

We knew the hotel where they were staying so we headed over there. We stood outside for about 15 minutes when my friend looked through the hotel lobby window and said to me, "Isn't that the Edge?". Sure enough, it was. At that moment, the Simple Minds tour bus arrived and the boys got out. They signed some autographs and went into the hotel.

All the fans split and my friend and I decided to go into the hotel. It was really cool, Jim Kerr, Bono, Adam Clayton, the Edge, Larry Mullen, etc., etc. all talking to each other in the lobby. We just walked around and they were very inviting and talked to us for about 15 minutes.

Very memorable experience.
 
Of all the threads that have been deleted and the one that ruins Barry's status as Mystery Man gets to stand. (No offense meant personally Mr. Dempsey) No longer can we enjoy hearing the voice of Yoda in our heads as we read his posts. No longer can we imagine him in grand azure robes with flowing white beard and a glint in his eye as he puffs his pipe and waves his wand. Some things are just better left unknown (no offense to you, Barry G...this is in no way a negative reaction to your physical appaerance, as if to say you look like a punk or something....you do look like a bad ass warrior, much like Anhar Miah...but your mystery was one of the more fun qualities of the DVXuser world).

Can someone please get me one of those Men In Black memory zappers?

The picture has been on DV Info for months! It's okay to be a little behind the times, Dan. :grin: (I'm already dodging the tomatoes ready to be thrown at me!)

i have never seen TC, but.. i dunno... i just have this image that he looks like a this, i have no idea why, but everytime a see a post from TC, i can just see this sitting at a chair typing away at the keyboard:

Yeah, but can The Edge get shallow depth of field out of an over-the-counter fixed-lens mini-DV camera? I think not.
