Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

Its funny.. it wasnt but that restaurant they all sit around and smoke some sort of Lebanese pot... no middle class in Freetown per say.. really poor africans and really rich Lebanese. Cool thing is the rich and poor get along alot better over there than we do in north america.

Like a hookah?

Thanks for sharing your experience Jarred! Did you enjoy wakeboarding even if it wasn't a wakeboard boat ;D

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

Wakeboarding was cool.. but I definatly need to try it on a lake rather than the ocean.. the waves made things a little difficult.

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

dude Jarred, I'm so envious of you. You get to travel and get paid big paper for this. Seriously, thanks for making me jelous. :P

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

Dont be envious.. at this point I would pay anything to be in my own bed right now... its been a little crazy.

Anyways, Last night I go from London to Rome, Italy.. I take this airline called EasyJet.. It was the most insane airline I have ever flown. Basically what happens is they give you no seat assignment, wait till 15 minutes before they take off and tell you the secret gate at the airport... so everyone runs and tries to get the best seat.  at 6' 7" and carrying a good 40pounds of gear it was relatively easy to bowl people out of the way.. needless to say I got the best seat on the plane.

Looking out my hotel window. Rome by far is the most beautiful
city I have ever been too.. the girls and guys are all very attractive
and style is everywhere... not a bad place to hang out for a few days.
italy1.jpg

Every mile or so is some bizarre intersection that has impressive fountains and statues or such.. this is one of the more famous.
italy3.jpg

Stumbled into some sort of shoot..
italy4.jpg

No work to do in Rome... Rome is just a sort of "I made it out of Africa without being killed" treat.. Only here till Friday then I start heading back to Vancouver... oh I cant wait to be home.

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

I thought the first Italy shot was one of the streets of  Stockholm  ;)

Awesome pics Jarred

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

does Sweden look the same? I gotta make it to there someday... maybe next time, you can show me around :)

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

Wow! Looks like you're having fun!

//EasyJet is great! :) It's like riding a truck on a bumpy road :)

//Rome indeed is great! But my favourite city in Italy is still Florence and litle town in Tuscany "San Giminiano".

//FYI: The most beutifull city in the world is still NYC <- oh, my God. I think I recorded there about 15h during my 2 weeks stay :)

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

It will be really a pleasure...Jarred. But dont arrive here before May and after September...Stockholm is at its best in between. :)

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

Cool.. I was in NYC last month with our very own Barry G... and yes its a cool city but I wouldn't say its the most beautiful... by a long shot.

Maybe I will see you in the summer Aejaz.

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

no photos are with my little canon sd200... DVX was used for work only... well if you really can call it work.

Looking forward to it. Just let me know in advance.

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

Noticed you were using a monopod for an interview. Traveling light, no tripod? Don't see any mikes either. What did you bring in your duffle?

chris

Re: Barry and Jarred's 2 week Blog

Yes.. I wasn't about to lug a studio tripod through the jungle.. and it was interview stuff anyways so a monopod was fine. Used Senh. G2's for mics.. Had a very minimal Kit, no mattebox, no filters, nothing fancy. Just enough to get the job done.

And thats it for Photos... my little Canon Powershot died yesterday... the second one (sd200) that has broke in the last 2 months. Good thing, cause thats about 2 weeks anyways :)
