Band New Capture problem

Whenever I want to capture I just use a firewire to dv (firewire) and it works fine
I been doing this for 4 years. The first time today FCP is saying

"unable to initialize video deck" ( as if everything wasn't plugged in )

Has this ever happened to you ?

Any ideas ?

( Maybe the cable went bad ? )
 
Forget this Thread. just a random freak problem. fixed by turning camera off and on
3 times (don't ask) I know its stupid
 
it's happening to me right the F now. it's annoying... turning it off and on doesn't work for me!

does it have anything to do with "easy setup" or capturing from a different camcorder before? it recognises my other old camcorder...

btw I use FCE
